Wool And Tweed - Mallalieus

Mallalieus weaving expertise goes back to the late 16th century. The Mallalieus were French Protestant Huguenots who fled to England in 1572 to escape religious persecution. By the early 1600s Mallalieus were settled near the Pennine village of Delph, a centre for woollen cloth production since medieval times. In 2000 the vertical production was moved a short distance to the current site, Valley Mill, a well-established woollen mill in Delph.
